Department of Advocacy and Support Services:

647-8003

Director: Deborah Rutledge

Client Advocates: Edith Tracy, Elisa Walker

Client Advocate/PATH Outreach Worker: Phil McNally

The department is emergency help for people in crisis. The client advocates offer clients counseling that focuses on learning the skills necessary to stabilize the family’s financial situation and set goals related to this effort. Client advocates will assess client needs and give referrals when appropriate to services in MACC and in the community that can help families and individuals achieve the goals that they have set for themselves and their families.

Vision:

An innovative department that provide hope, strengthen families and individuals and promote self-sufficiency through direction.

Goal:

Advocacy and Support Services will provide emergency help to individuals and families in crisis.

PATH Outreach Worker/Client Advocate:

The outreach worker’s primary responsibility is to seek out, identify and engage homeless individuals in the community who have mental health problems and live in non traditional settings (shelters, parks, under bridges, in encampments, etc.). The worker builds a rapport with each client that will help them to accept the services needed to stabilize their living situations. Once identified the worker acts as an advocate for the client referring to services and working with area service providers and clients to insure the services are provided.
