Devoted to MACC

The Church Mouse Thrift Shoppe:

Welcome to the Church Mouse Thrift Shoppe. The only thrift around that begs you to shop the rest and you will soon find out that we are the best. The absolute lowest prices coupled with the absolute highest quality merchandise insure you will have the best thrifting experience ever.

Our Mission:

  1. To earn revenue for our parent organization MACC so that we may help more people and to help those we already serve in a more significant way
  2. To fulfill MACC’s mission of providing free clothing to people in need
A thrift like no other:

At the Church Mouse Thrift Shoppe we pride ourselves on the look, cleanliness and layout of our store. We sell only the highest quality donated items. We do not sell items with stains or rips with zippers that don’t work or buttons that are missing. Our double sort system insures that only the highest quality items are placed on the floor for sale.

Our staff and volunteers are here to serve you and do everything they can to insure every visit to the Church Mouse is a memorable one.

A win/win for both shoppers and clients:

Whether you shop or donate to the Church Mouse you can feel comfortable in the knowledge that donations and or purchases are helping someone in need.

By shopping the Church Mouse the money you spend goes directly to MACC to provide for such things as food, shelter, home heating oil, electricity and many of the other staples of life.

By donating to the Church Mouse your donated goods may be going to someone in need for free, or turned into cash through the sale of your items, which in turn allows MACC to help those in need.

We are the only store in the area that gives away clothing for free!

Volunteers needed:

We are looking for fashion savvy people to help sort clothing, display clothing, market the store through art work and decorating, operate the cash register, provide customer service, personal shopping and a multitude of various other retail tasks.

Other volunteer needs:

Bilingual volunteers
Retail professionals
Marketing/advertising professionals
Grant writers
People with trucks to go to the dump for us
Sales & Promotions:

  • Every day during the months of August & February is half price

The show will be held in the beautiful Cheney Hall Theater in Manchester, CT. from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, October 7th.

Based on popular demand, John Carroll, last year's MC, is returning. And stay tuned for more exciting news about the show. A complete website with pictures from 2006 will be operational in a few weeks.

Thanksgiving Day 2007: The Bread for Dough fun-raiser!
The Great Harvest Bread Company 809 Main St. downtown Manchester will for the 7th consecutive year be relinquishing their store and stock to help those in need. All bread sales that day go directly to MACC. Gene & Dale proprietors of The Great Harvest Bread Company will once again bake and package the bread and donate every loaf to MACC to sell. Please make it a point to come down on this very special day and help us raise money by picking up a loaf or two.
Would you like to volunteer? Please contact Jerry Arcari at 647-0800 for additional information.

You are encouraged to contact Jerry (647-0800) to join the Insomniacs and step out hunger! Do it to help, do it to get some exercise, do it because it is fun. Whatever your reason for joining, just do it! Please note, walking in your pajamas is not required but it sure is a lot more fun!

Crusin on Main:
August 5, 2007
Once again Jerry is driving home the fact that he needs your support. Jerry is looking for volunteers to help fun-raise and volunteer during the event. Please contact Jerry (647-0800) to help him cruise to his most successful year ever!
