Job Description: Our
Pantry distributes food to families and individuals
in the Manchester and Bolton Area. Each family
gets up to seven days worth of food for each individual
in the household. As a volunteer you may:
- Assist
clients in pick out groceries from our self-select
pantry shelves, while helping them adhere to
guidelines for amounts of food. These guidelines
are provided to the volunteer by MACC’s Food Service Assistant
who has determined then based on an interview with
the client and the size of the client’s
family.
- Help
clients bag their groceries
- Accept
food donations
- Provide
in-kind donation acknowledgements
- Sort
donated food
- Stock
pantry shelves with donated food
Location: MACC
Community Pantry
Hours: Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday,
Thursday 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Requirements: Volunteers
must be at least 18 years of age. They must be
able to stand, bend and lift.
Qualifications: Applicant
must have the ability to maintain confidential
information, get along well with people, and treat
each client fairly
Attire: Casual
but neat, comfortable shoes
Commitment: Long
or short term
Training: On
the job training is provided.
